A.    Section Includes: Double acting, self closing, fully insulated, 1-3/4 inch (44 mm) thick, impact traffic door.

 

INCLUDE APPROPRIATE SECTION(S) BELOW FOR OPENING FRAMING AND DOOR FRAMES. RECOMMENDED FRAME IS A 6 INCH (152 mm) STEEL CHANNEL WITH A 3/8 INCH (10 mm) WEB (MC6 X 18.0). RUBBAIR EXTRUDED ALUMINUM FRAMES CAN BE SPECIFIED IF DESIRED AND ARE INCLUDED IN THIS SECTION AS AN OPTION.

B.    Verify doors were shipped in upright position.

1.     Note specific doors shipped in other than upright position on bill of lading and contact manufacturer.

2.2       DOOR COMPONENTS

A.    Panel Construction: Rotationally molded one-piece shell with an overall thickness of 1 ¾ inch (44 mm) and reinforced to 2 ¼ inch (56 mm) thickness at the spine edge.

 

B.    Core: High density non-CFC urethane foam. Include full height internal steel shaft foamed in-place and secured to top and bottom mounting brackets for additional reinforcement.

C.    Facings: Minimum 3/16 inch (4.5 mm) thick cross-linked polyethylene, color as selected by architect.

D.    Hardware

1.     Cam: Patented “helix” Helical cam design; [1 ¼” inch (32 mm)] standard rise, fabricated from low-friction delrin polymer.

4.     Top and Bottom Hinge Shaft: 1-5/16 inch (33 mm) diameter, food grade stainless steel, #4 grain finish.

FOLLOWING LOCKING DEVICE IS STANDARD FOR PADLOCK (NOT SUPPLIED); CONTACT RUBBAIR FOR OTHER OPTIONS.

 

E.    Locking Device: 1 inch (25 mm) i.d. cast aluminum bushing (2 per leaf) with two 3/16 inch (5 mm) by 30 inch (760 mm) long galvanized proof coil chains.

F.    Transom Flap: 2 ply vinyl, color as selected by Architect.

2.4       FABRICATION

A.    Shop Assembly: Secure top and bottom mounting brackets to rotationally molded door panel using three 3 inch (75 mm) stainless steel bolts each. Position brackets at top and bottom mortises on panel and align center bolt  to secure through the internal tubular steel shaft. Secure windows and all optional features to door panel using stainless steel and zinc coated fasteners.

2.5       SOURCE QUALITY CONTROL

A.    Fabrication Tolerances: Width and height of each leaf: + 0, -3/16 inch (3 mm).

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1       EXAMINATION

A.    Examine opening in which door will be installed.

B.    Coordinate with responsible entity to perform corrective work on unsatisfactory conditions.

C.    Commencement of work by installer is acceptance of opening conditions.

3.2       INSTALLATION

A.    Follow manufacturer’s instructions.

B.    [Install frames plumb and level.]

C.    Install door with necessary anchors, hardware and accessories.

3.3       ADJUSTING

A.    Follow manufacturer’s instructions as required to:

1.     Clean and lubricate operating parts.

2.     Adjust to open and close smoothly and freely without binding.

3.     Check seals for proper fit.

 

3.4       CLEANING

A.    Clean surfaces soiled by work as recommended by manufacturer.

B.    Remove surplus materials and debris from the site.
